The Art of Eating: The Life of M.F.K. Fisher had its World Premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival on October 11 and 13 in association with San Francisco Litquake. Enthusiastic audiences packed two screenings followed by conversations with director Gregory Bezat. MFK Fisher’s daughter Kennedy Fisher Golden and voice actress Mary Dilts joined Gregory on the Rafael stage with Festival Documentary Program Director Kelly Clement. Local writers and chefs were spotted in the audience.
Gregory did an extensive interview with IndieMemphis Festival Director Miriam Bale for the Spotlight showing on October 22 and at the Devour! Food Film Festival’s October 30 Closing Day screening Chef and author Bob Blumer conducted an onstage conversation with Producer Gary Meyer.
On November 4 Bezat, Meyer, Kennedy Fisher Golden, and NPR host and author Clark Wolf joined food writer Marion Nestle for a very special lunch prepared by the girl & the fig at Fisher’s Last House on the Audubon Canyon Ranch Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen.
The Art of Eating was the Opening Night film at the Newport Restaurant Week Foodie Film Festival on November 4 in Rhode Island.
